The ACH Contractors Kalgan Stampede together with Albany Horse World invites Rookies (must not
have had competed competitively in Rodeo Barrel Racing or at the discretion of Albany Horse World) to
come and compete at the 2019 ACH Contractors Kalgan Stampede. This fun even has a cash prize pool of
$1000 and prizes kindly donated by Albany Horse World. Horse and rider combinations will be given the
opportunity to have two goes at the Barrel Race. Racers will then divide into teams of 3 to have a go at
Team Western Bending. (Teams must have 2 riders 17 years and under and 1 rider 18 years and over.
Teams can be made prior to the day and / or remaining riders will be placed into teams)

1. Young Guns- Rider 11 and under (can be lead / assisted)
2. Encourage- Rider 12- 14 years
3. Junior- Rider 15-17 years
4. Senior- Rider 18-25years
5. Open Ladies- Ladies 26years & over
6. Open Gents- Gentleman 26 years & over

Prize Money: Prize money shown is the total prize pool per division- paid to 3rd place.
Entry Fees: 17 years & Under ($45) 18 years & Over ($65)- this includes ABCRA day membership and
insurance and ticket to see the Main Rodeo events. $20 additional fee to enter a second horse.
Dress Code: Western- jeans, no jod’s, long sleeve collared shirt and smooth soled boots. Please noteriders
under 18 must wear a helmet.
Rules: Rider can go to either the left or the right barrel first. Barrels to be done in the traditional clover
leaf patter. Barrels will be set out at the appropriate distances. Fastest time wins. Coarse will be smaller
for Young Guns. If a barrel in knocked over a 5 second penalty applies. Running past a barrel and off
the pattern will result in a no time or disqualification. There is a 60 second time limit to complete the
course after time begins.

Entries: Must be delivered to Albany Horse World with a completed waiver form. Entries close 5.00pm
Friday Jan 4th 2019. Late entries will incur a $10 late fee. Non-riding Parents / Guardians are required to
purchase a ticket to get into the rodeo. (Discount offered- see entry form below)
Spectator Gates open from 11.00am and racing will start in the main arena at 12 noon starting with
Young Guns. Hot food and drinks on site. Committee reserves the right to cap entry numbers or to alter
age categories to accommodate numbers. Riders can enter 2 horses but horses can not be shared
between 2 riders. Depending on entry numbers we may have to start at 11am if required.

Parking: Competitor Camping Area - Priority is given to Main Rodeo Event Competitors & Manypeaks
Equestrian Club Members. Day parking area will be inside the Competitor Entry Gate alongside the
road. Parking for Rookie crews wanting to camp with their horses will be down at the spectator
camping area at a cost of $15 pp per night + booking fee or
$15 directly through the Kalgan River Caravan Park on 9844 7937 – BYO temp fencing required.
